We started off the new year playing against our own East Hants Gold team and it was an exciting game! Even though the other team had solid goaltending we were able to keep the pressure up and score a lot of skilled goals. Yuna's skates arrived and their goalie gear arrived just intime for Yuna's memorable goal and celly Hugs with Maura on a tough squad. 

Lila Brown has really elevated her game with new found confidence every shift, showing a fierce attitude, battling and staying positive on the bench. She said "lets kick their butts" on the bench which became the TSN turning point of the game! Her attitude and hustle helped us turned up the intensity and light up the score sheet with some highlight reel goals from Fletcher and Sully. She was our first player of the game for 2026!

Ace Gaudet was looking for passes early on, but needed some coaching direction after being a silly and doing 67 hand motions to fans in the crowd. The coaches asked him to use his speed to pressure the puck and make sure to pass up the boards instead of in front of our net. After listening to the coaches, he moved from silly to determined and helped pressure the other team with his speed to create turn overs and fuel our big second period! He earned our other player of the game!

Great start to our new year, looking forward to the rest of 2026 with Team U9 Black Penguins!
